Overstock Biltmore Wingchair

The wing chair in our master sitting room found a mate!  It's a match made in heaven.  I was so pleased with the first chair- the cream color, shape, nailhead trim, and price that I wanted to add a second one.  It was sold out when I tried to order it, but Overstock has an option that lets you enter your email address to be notified if/when the product becomes available again.  When I got that email, I ordered the second one right away.

Styling spaces and photographing them is one of my favorite  hobbies. I'm always rearranging things and accessorizing.  If you look closely, you'll see I switched the flower vase. I thought a shorter arrangement looked better after I saw it photographed. 

I switched out the side table for a larger one (just moved it from our living room).  For now, we've got a gold geometric jewelry box (buy 1 get one 50% off now and they have different colors/patters/sizes), mercury glass lamp (similar), candle, flowers (always!), and books in a pretty color palette. 

The rug is still a favorite.  It's so plush on my feet and I haven't had any problems with shedding- even when I had it in the entryway downstairs.

I've got my reminder sitting pretty in my home office with other things I adore.  I lined the acrylic tray with bold pink, red, and gold paper and added a geometric-patterned jewelry box and candle.  The amateur abstract art was created in my garage while painting with my son over a year ago.  An ikat tray holds precious instagram photos and the brass lamp adds a funky sculptural vibe.

Happy Friday again!  This week sure flew by and, surprise!, we're already nearing the end of October.  I drove down one of our main streets at night recently, Westheimer Road, which passes by the Houston Galleria and through the popular Highland Village, and noticed that the palm trees that line both sides of the street were strung with white Christmas lights.  It got me a little excited for the holiday season, which will be here before we know it.  

I've got some popular pins to share with you today.  And I've been working on organizing my Pinterest boards better and have added some new boards Men (mostly men's fashion/style) and Wedding (just because the photos are so pretty and for those of you looking for wedding inspiration).  My food boards are getting out of control so I'm thinking of splitting them into a few categories.  Right now they are Food -Yummy and Food- Sweets.

On Honey We're Healthy:  My Kitchen Essentials 

Our Sitting Room // New Wingchair

How good do you feel when you score a really great item at an affordable price?  And when that item is a piece of furniture purchased over the Internet, without the benefit of an in-person inspection, isn't it even better?  I feel that way about a wingback chair I found on Overstock a few months ago.  It works perfectly in our master sitting area and is actually pretty comfy. 

It's a pretty cream color with silver nailhead trim along the bottom and sides.  I think it goes great with the rug and coffee table I moved upstairs.  

I only ordered one initially, to make sure I liked it in person, but I'm thinking a pair would work well in this space.  This is where I go to watch "Mom TV" alone or sometimes chat on the phone from this spot.  I've had it styled different ways, with different side tables, sometimes a lamp.  

I love to have fresh flowers here and Whole Foods is such a great place for gorgeous flowers.  

*Update- Ah! Need to switch up the chair legs- so funny!

When do you start buying Christmas gifts?  I try to make notes throughout the year of things I think would be perfect for certain people and usually start buying in early November so I'm not stressing in December and can relax more.  Pinterest is a great way to catalog gift ideas throughout the year too.  I'll also look into my friends boards to get ideas of things they like.  Sneaky, huh?! :)
